European Services Conference 2017 - Transforming lives through innovation and technology!

Valletta, Malta, Grand Hotel Excelsior - From 26 th to 28 th June 2017

 

Co-hosted for the first time by the Maltese Presidency of the Council of the European Union, this 25th anniversary edition will explore how innovative practices and technology can help create better local social services for the future. More about the theme can be found here.

The 3-day programme is available in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish and features speakers from national governments, such as the Maltese Minister for Family and Social Solidarity, Michael Farrugia, the European institutions, such as the EU Commission’s Director for Social Affairs, Georg Fischer. The local level will also take centre stage with representatives of regional governments and European capitals and cities. In addition, participants can hear from researchers and academics, corporates and different stakeholders involved in shaping the future of social welfare. The Conference includes keynote speeches, roundtables, thematic panel discussions and a wide range of workshops where participants can learn more in-depth about specific innovative examples.

The 2017 edition will also host a fringe event, the ‘Nordic Day 2017’, which will be about locally developed working methods to respond to new challenges, such as that of unaccompanied minors.

Organised annually by the European Social Network (ESN), the European Social Services Conference brings together all those with an interest in social welfare to exchange knowledge on contemporary social policy and practice.

Around 400 senior professionals, from all over the world come together to share new ideas and improve services.
