To mark the 20th anniversary of the ‘Cool Britannia’ era, and in the context of the decision to leave the European Union, Demos has joined with the British Council, the UK’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities, for a unique special edition of the Demos Quarterly journal of ideas.
We are delighted to announce the launch of the issue at a public reception in Westminster, bringing together the contributors to set our their visions for Britain’s national identity, our place in the world, and how we should best engage with the opportunities ahead.
The event will be hosted by the British Council’s chief executive, Sir Ciarán Devane. Demos’ chairman, Philip Collins of The Times, will chair a lively debate between the writers on their different views of Britain’s pathways forward.
This event will be followed by a reception.
